Doula Amanda

First of all, I want to congratulate you because if you are on this website you are on a fabulous perinatal journey.

You are either pregnant or have recently given birth and I want to let you know you are amazing.

I am a doula, I support women throughout their pregnancy, I attend their births and I can also support mom and family during the early postnatal days when she is adjusting to life with her newborn.

Empowered and informed pregnancy, birth and motherhood

The journey of creating and carrying this new life, giving birth and becoming a parent is awesome. Through birth education and preparation I work with moms to make the journey as joyful, as calm and as empowering as possible.

With antenatal birth preparation, I go at the pace of the mother and her family and depending on what is needed I adjust my sessions to fit moms needs. I facilitate mom to develop her birth plan, we discuss her desired place of birth and we look at tools and techniques for empowered labour and a smooth transition from womb to world for her baby.

Once labour is established I am with the mother, holding her hand, holding her space and reminding her of the power she holds to birth her baby in peace and safety.

When her baby has arrived I sit with mother and newborn, again ensuring her space is safe for bonding, that she is OK within herself and that her wellbeing needs are met in these early moments.

I work across Birmingham, Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
